Here at Village Sentry Pet Care we spend a lot of time organizing our daycare program in a way that benefits everybody involved. Safety is our top priority, followed by fun!

Our packages offer perks for our frequent-flyer-pups and their families!

This is why we have a mandatory 2 times a week or  8 times a month commitment policy with the purchase and upkeep of a daycare package to ensure that all the pups participating in daycare know one another, are accustomed to their group, and find a niche while they are away from home. It is difficult for dogs, much like children, to acclimate and make friends if they are not actively involved.

DOGGY DAYCARE

How To Join Our Doggy Daycare

Have a first-hand awareness of your dog’s temperament and behavior around other dogs. We highly recommend having your dog socialize with some friends' dogs, supervised group settings, or working with them in group training before considering to send them to daycare. Mingling with other dogs is not always the best fit for every dog, and it is helpful for you as an owner to have an idea of how your dog may do in a group setting prior to applying.

If your dog thrives in a group environment and you’d like to enroll them in our Doggy Daycare, fill out our application, found here, which can be brought to our office or mailed to our P.O. box. All daycare applications are read by the daycare manager before Village Sentry Pet Care decides if a trial will be set up. If your dog fits into our environment we will call you to set up an “daycare trial" with the pup. If we don’t, there could be a few reasons why:

  • The energy group that we feel your dog would be best suited for is full (our adult groups are often very full)

  • Your dog is reported to be anxious in a group or indoor setting

  • Your dog is reported to be aggressive towards people or other dog

Our “daycare trial” is a free meet-and-greet for a few hours that introduces your pup to our staff and when we find the best group for them to join should they get accepted into our Doggy Daycare program.

For more information on how this trial works, please see the tours and trials page.

Day-to-Day Schedule

Although our daycare hours start at 6:30 A.M. and end at 6:30 P.M., your pup can be dropped off and picked up at any time during our business hours.

We start the rotating groups between 8:00 A.M. and 8:30 A.M. The groups will be outside for one to two hours in the morning, depending on the energy level, then come in for their rest time. The morning rounds of Doggy Daycare conclude around 11:30 A.M. and start back up after lunch at 12:30 P.M. We have found that the dogs benefit from a full hour of zero activity, so that they can rest, nap, have lunch, or even catch a second wind!

The afternoon has two more times for play, essentially identical to the morning rounds. The second round is just as long as the morning, and, often by the third round, the dogs are pretty exhausted! The rotating groups conclude between 4 P.M. and 5 P.M. depending on how busy the day is and the types of groups we have.

6:30 A.M.: Dogs start coming in!

8:30 A.M.: Doggy Daycare groups begin.

11:30 A.M.: Doggy Daycare groups come in for an hour of rest.

11:45 A.M.: Lunchtime for any pups with packed lunches.

12:30 P.M.: Afternoon groups begin.

4:30 P.M.: Doggy Daycare groups finish up.

6:30 P.M.: Latest pick-up time!

If your pup needs something to munch on mid-day, we will give them any labeled lunch you want to bring in with a $2.00 charge.

Groups

While our daycare groups are sometimes set up by size of the dog, we pay special attention to the energy level of the individual dogs as well as the dogs’ interactions in the group setting. Our groups average eight to sixteen dogs per group with a staff attendant at all times.

We may only have three groups or we may have up six groups at a time that are organized to ensure the best play experience for all the dogs at daycare.

We normally have a puppy group, a teenager group, one or two adult groups, small dog group, and a lower energy, “VIP” mixed group on any given day.

Since our daycare is a program, we like to think of the groups more as classes. Our adult groups are full because the dogs typically do better when they start younger (4-16 months old) in the program as they get to age with their group. We often have availability for younger dogs as we are always looking to add members to our Doggy Daycare program that will be able to integrate and grow up here; many of our dogs start young and come for life!

Package Requirements & Perks

As previously mentioned, our Doggy Daycare has a twice a week or eight times per month commitment policy to ensure that all of the dogs are involved are acclimating and making consistent friend groups that they can grow and flourish with!

You can come any two days you want, and you do not need to sign up for specific days. Though, most customers find that if they dedicate themselves to two specific days, they are able to keep up with the commitment easier. You're also more than welcome to come more than twice a week. We see some of our pups every day!

We offer 5 day, 10 day, and 15 day packages that are discounted from our standard single day Doggy Daycare prices. Each package has the same commitment policy.

If you cannot make this commitment, please speak with us about your situation. We are more than willing to allow you to come to daycare as a “drop-in” at the single day rate each time you come in, so long as we feel your dog can handle coming in sporadically.

Please understand that we do not allow the purchase of a package if you cannot come twice a week, as there are many perks that come with being part of our ‘loyalty’ program.

NOTICE:

In order to receive these package perks and discounts, you must have held a package with the correct number of visits for our system to apply discounts for at least 60 continuous days.  If we find that you are not reaching the commitment, we will refund your package money and leave it on file for you to use towards the drop-in rate of $26 a day. After that money is used up, you can pay by the day or leave money on file to use for single days.

With the proper upkeep of a package, you have a lot of perks that Village Sentry Pet Care encourages you to take advantage of:

  • Priority boarding availability

  • Discounted daycare days (see prices)

  • 20% off bath or nail services while checked into daycare

  • Option to drop off for boarding/pick up from boarding during extended daycare hours Monday-Friday

  • Option to check into daycare on final day of a boarding stay

  • 20% off bathing during daycare

  • 20% off nail grinds during daycare

  • 8% off boarding during off-peak times

  • No minimum stay required during peak times
